Tagged! (Thanks a lot HOLLY!) :)

The rules: Each player list 6 facts/habits about themselves. At the end of the post the player then tags six more people.

  1. I love to read! I read mostly mystery, but lately I have been expanding my selection. I still stick to fiction most of the time. :)
  2. I like bowling, but hate the way my hands feel after picking the ball up 4 times. Ya know how they get all oily? YUCK!
  3. When I ski, I enjoy skiing the nice little lazy-dazy cattracks. No black diamonds for me folks. In fact pretty much anything over green is not for me. I just like to go down for a mild exercise, and mostly to enjoy the outdoors!
  4. I am an RN. That is, registered nurse. I have never worked as one, but maybe someday when the time is right.
  5. I don’t like to iron. I think it is a pain in the rear, so I don’t do it very often. However, when I do get around to ironing a few shirts, or worse, placemats, I can’t help but think they look so much better. I still will NOT iron pillowcases, or sheets!
  6. I like to bake. I prefer it over cooking dinner. Probably mostly because it typically means that it is something sweet and I have such a sweet-tooth! The bad thing about that is that sometimes these sweet treats replace meals…probably not the healthiest thing! Oh well!

I tag Becca Lind, Elizabeth Cullimore, Emily Haycock, Kimber Strasser, Jaime Waldram and Xan Pulsipher.

Ready for Church and getting into Trouble!

I just had to post a pic for my Mom with Nathan in his church outfit. I just love it when little boys have church clothes. Little girls have all those cute dresses, why can't boys be all dressed up too?? I think he just looks so cute. AND, then after church, Nathan found my wallet in the diaper bag and started pulling out my checkbook and cards and whatever else he could find...right as we're getting ready to go to Tithing settement! What a little rascal!

Ward Christmas Party

Just a couple of pics from our ward party. We had fun and Nathan was pretty good! We were busy all day helping to set up the party and making food, but it was delicious and worth it! Nathan was a little bit confused about Santa, but at least he didn't cry!

Just for a laugh!

Two Aunties came to visit!

My sisters came to visit and so we did some shopping and then we went to the Arboretum on the free day which is very nice! I don't think I would pay to get in there, but it was nice to walk around and to see some peacocks and the pretty waterfall. Nathan also liked pointing at the ducks and the other bird we saw (maybe a heron, I'm not sure...). Anyways, we had fun seeing them and Nathan loved the extra attention!

Who does Nathan look more like???

Help me out here!!!

I need to buy a booster type seat, and am wondering if anybody has any opinions about either of these types of chairs...I'm looking at a booster chair (click here) OR a hook on chair that hooks to the table (here). Let me know if you have any experience of opinions on either type!! THANKS!

The LA City Council banned the use of the "N"-word . See a link here . Hmmm... What a waste of time! What difference is that going to make? None. Absolutely none.
On the other hand, if the city is going to make a stand against foul language, why doesn't it ban all profanity?
I was going to put up a link to the No Cussing Club but apparently it has been hacked. These hackers are whining about infringement of first amendment rights as they simultaneously erase and pervert the voices of thousands. Ironic.

Funny pictures...

So, I know Nathan looks like a girl, but he was playing in the bathroom while I was putting my makeup on, and he pulled one of my headbands out of the drawer. He loves playing with it, and I just couldn't resist putting it on him! Haha...oh well, plus, I cut his hair with the clippers on Friday, so these pics show you that also. AND, we went on a walk and it was only 58 degrees (my Mom said it was 26 degrees in Parma, ID today), so I just HAD to try out the little hat and gloves I bought for Nathan.

Halloween Fun :)

Grandma and G-G-ma's visit!

My mom and Grandma visited us this past weekend. We had a lot of fun shopping and making a quiet book for Nathan. We had a great time! My mom couldn't believe how big Nathan was getting!!!

Pumpkin Patches and Parks

Above is a picture of us at our Pumpkin Patch in South the right is a picture of the location...HAHA!! We were tempted to drive an hour to go to a pumpkin patch that included a hayride, petting zoo, and who knows what else, but instead of enduring 2 hours of torture in the car with Nathan and spending an arm and a leg on gas, we settled for walking down to the corner of Mission and Fremont to our neighborhood Pumpkin Patch (If you can even really call it a patch??) We did have fun picking our pumpkin. It took about 2 minutes. We had fun. And since it was such a HOT day, we decided to go to the park later where Nathan tried out the slide, all by himself!

Birthday Lunch

So, we normally have playgroup on Tuesday's, but since my birthday was on Sunday, we decided to go out to lunch to celebrate! We had a short playgroup and then headed to Souplantation. Not my typical choice when I think of going out, but it was delicious! Their BBQ chicken focaccia was delicious, and their little chocolate brownies are amazing! Plus all the salads and soups were good too. I just love pigging out! :)

Our Wonderful Pool

They emptied our pool for some "routine" maintenance and I thought we would take the opportunity for some interesting pictures. John thought this was pretty stupid, but I thought it was great!

John surprised me last night with tickets to Wicked for my birthday! We were in the 5th row, center stage!! Our seats were amazing, the cast was amazing, it was so much fun. Of course, I didn't take my camera, so we couldn't get a cool picture outside of Pantages Theater, but I made John take one with me when we got home! I would definitely recommend this musical to anyone!

Getty Museum

Nathan and I went to the Getty Museum on Wednesday! We went with the USC Dental Spouse Club; there were quite a few little kids! I actually did not even step inside a building to look at art. But Nathan did like the "family room" building so that he could crawl around a little. The Gardens were very pretty, and the view of Los Angeles was amazing.

Here is Nathan in the family room area, playing in the bed with books, and the other artistic things (notice I am not an art connoisseur, oh well).

All the moms and kids! :)

We had fun!!!

We had a little playgroup with a few kids on the block...they were all pretty exhausted with playing by the time we got around to taking this picture. They had fun (I think) with only a few minor injuries! Nathan wanted to steal his toys from them, he really needs to learn how to share!! :) There will be many more playgroups in the future to hopefully master this skill.

Hip Hop

So here we are (Laisa, Stacey, Ashley, Alyssa, and myself), posing with Shane Sparks after our hip hop dance class in North Hollywood. We all had a great time, I looked like a silly white girl, but hey, I had fun! Let's just say I had never danced hip hop like THAT before! :)
And of course, I had to pose in some awkward position for a picture as we were leaving...
