John's parents are on a mission in Chile and we decided to visit them in January. They left in September so they hadn't been gone terribly long, but it was so good to see them. They took a sort of mini vacay while we were there and we got to see some different parts of Chile. The benefits of being a senior missionary couple I guess!
Here we are at the beach in Constitucion. The black sand was very. cool. :) Can't say I'd seen any before this trip.
We had visited a branch that morning (it was Sunday) and then we made our way South to a beautiful lake and volcano area. Pucon.
We had to relax a little bit!
At the hotel, we had to wear swimming caps to swim in the pool...kinda makes sense I guess! No weird hairs floating around in the pool...
On our way out of town the next morning we saw a milk cart. This guy seriously delivers milk on this cart!

We visited some hot springs that were way cool. They were all made into little pools with slabs of stone with steps down.
They each had a temperature. We liked 41 the best. (Sounds cold right?!? Celsius...really threw me for a loop)

We stopped at McDonalds on our way to Vina Del Mar. It tasted quite good after eating some different food for several days!

Some cool stairs we saw on our walk through the town Valparaiso. It is a town with a bunch of colorful houses all over the hills. Kinda cool. The pic of the dog below followed us around for awhile. They have a ton of wild dogs that just hang out everywhere. Kinda creepy.
We stopped to take some pics on our way out of town....and got back to the car to find this...
Broken car window and Sally's bag and Xoom stolen. Lovely. Definitely added a kink to the end of our trip.
We drove from Vina Del Mar to Santiago (about an hour and a half) with a cardboard window. The next day Doug was able to get the car in to get the window fixed same day. Blessing. We did a little shopping while he was dealing with that headache. There were a bunch of cute little artisan shops here and I found a cute necklace charm and earrings made of Lapis Azuli (a popular stone in Chile).
