Alexander Dale Pulsipher

Alex was born at 3:52 am Sunday June 28th. He was 7 lbs. 8 oz. 21.5 in long. I drank castor oil Saturday morning and started having random contractions around 2 pm. We went on several walks and by 10 that night I was having very consistent contractions. We went to the hospital at about 1 am and I was 7-8 cm dilated. My water started "leaking" after the nurse "accidentally" broke the bag. By 3:20 I started to push. I didn't have an epidural again, but I did however get a peri-cervical block and a dose of fentanyl. The peri-cervical block was AMAZING! Too bad they don't teach them in med school anymore...It's basically a numbing shot they give in the cervix to take the edge off the contractions. Anyway, it was great. Enjoy the pictures!

I don't know what I was smiling so big about...

ALEX!

Nathan couldn't stop smiling. :)

Or kissing him!

Our happy little family!!

Congrats! Yes, you are crazy for no epidural, but at least it went pretty quick! Baby Alex is a cutie, well done!

Congratulations guys! He's adorable. I can't believe you went without an epidural! Mine was only about halfway effective with Brynlee and that was more than I could take!!! Scott loves the name Alexander.

I too tried the castor oil -- it's so nasty I never did it again, but glad it worked for you. Alex looks so cute and I love how happy Nathan looks with his little brother. Glad everything went okay! Congratulations!!

Congrats to you guys. I'm so happy all went well. I've never heard of castor oil actually working...good for you. You sound happy with your labor experience, and it looks like you've got another healthy baby boy. Good luck with the sleepless nights ahead!
